Description Philippe ROUBACH 2009-10-13 18:37:42 UTC
Version: 1.0.0-beta5 (using 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2), Mandriva Linux release 2010.0 (Cooker) for i586)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.31.4-desktop-0.rc2.1mnb

i plug my gps tracker
notifier warns me
i select in the notifier digikam

then
the tool to manage usb disk is opened
this tool is the same for still camera

it would be better to open a tool which is a mix of 2 functions :
- select photos
- geolocalize by correlating with gps track

Dario,

It's like KDE USB device notifier problem. Right ?

Comment 2 Marcel Wiesweg 2009-10-17 17:02:01 UTC
The problem is is most probably that the Plasma device notifier offers "Open with digikam" for any plugged storage device.
The underlying problem is that there are only very restricted ways to select the devices for which digikam should be offered.

This is not a digiKam rules to open your device as an USB key.

There is a deamon in background which deal with it.

Under KDE, this deamon pass the device information to USB notifier which must ask to user what you want to do with the device (typically, which application to open to play with it). It's like under Windows.

Suggestion : update your system, or ask to Mandriva team.
