Sentry Crash Report:

Description Frank Niethardt 2009-10-07 06:54:17 UTC
Version: 0.70.90 (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package

Often I experience that someone trys to add me (especially on ICQ). Now Kopete offers "Add Authorize Block". From time to time I happen to click "Authorize" instead of "Add". I then have no possibility to come back and add the contact myself until he messages me.

The better way would be to "Authorize" and Kopete ask the user if he wants to add the contact as well.

BTW: The "Add" is somewhat confusing too, because nobody would expect this to be an "Authorize and Add" at the first usage.

I agree. "Authorize" and "Add" are not mutually exclusive actions, though Kopete treats them as such. It is possible to add someone without authorizing them, and it is possible to authorize someone without adding them. However, there is no obvious way to both add and authorize someone.

Confirming problem still exists in Kopete 1.0.0 (KDE 4.4.0).

Also, this false dichotomy is a fairly serious problem which I think is more a bug than a feature request.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
