Description marco 2009-10-06 17:50:16 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

The number of application instance is not refreshed correctly.

1) Open any application Ex: Dolphin
2) Open again the same application (two times more)
3) Now that yo have 3 instances of the same application with titles:

Dolphin,
Dolphin<1>
Dolphin<2>

4) Close the first two instances of the aplicaction.

Dolphin and Dolphin<1>

5) The title of the one that stay's opened (Dolphin<2>) should be refreshed to Dolphin (with no number)

This could be solved sending a message to all instances for refreshing the title that represent's the instance opened.

Tested in fedora 11 Kde 4.3.1

Let me add that I would like to keep the current behaviour. When I have windows A and B, and close A, I want to see B still open. I know what you mean, but I am sure it would confuse someone. At least this should not be automatic, maybe some "clean/reassign duplication numbers" shortcut.

As Christoph pointed out that has to be a wontfix - sorry. Adding a configuration switch for such a behaviour is in my opinion featuritis and even more confusing and unlikely that a user would find it.
