Description bonne 2009-10-06 06:26:23 UTC
Version: unknown (using 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1), Gentoo)
Compiler: i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.29-gentoo-r5

Occasionally the taskbar shows tasks which do not exist anymore. I have noticed this with firefox and amarok, but it can probably occur with any program. Usually the "phantom" tasks are present once an application has crashed. The application's taskbar entry does not go away.
Further these phantom tasks appear on all desktops (I have my taskbar set to only show apps on the current desktop).
They cannot be closed by way or right click -> close.
They usually appear on the far left of the taskbar.
They go away after logging out and back in again, or after removing the taskbar from the panel and readding it.

I have triple checked that there is no real application running that corresponds to these phantom entries. I'm happy to provide any more information as required.
