The original design of the enterprise header was to hide the details from the user and to make the look "clean". If we start putting the email addresses back on all the senders, then we lose much of the design goal. Note that the full address is shown in the status bar when you hover your mouse over the sender's name. So, I would invalidate this bug and suggest to use another header style. Except that this is really a call that the KMail maintainer should make. Thomas should have the final word on it. Couldn't you add a second header that looks just like the enterprise header but which shows the full email address? Then the user could choose the preferred one: the clean and good looking one or the secure and informational good looking one. IMHO it is not enough to show the address on mouseover in the status bar because that requires extra action. You cannot see the information at one glance and I know a lot of people from my office who won't take that action, they just rely on what they see. I second the wish for an *additional* header that looks as fancy as the enterprise header but is more secure and shows the needed information. An additional clone of the enterprise header which shows all email addresses as Peter Paulsen proposes sounds like a good solution. That would satisfy both, the people who prefer the email address hidden in favor of a "clean" design and the people who love a fancy design too but also prefer to see the email addresses in favor of clarity and security. Can someone please assign this to Kmail 2? Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented. Thank you for your understanding. Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2. |
