The "status report" is likely the self-test error report, ie. it detected a problem on your system. That's certainly not something we want to remove. Regarding the start-up progress message, that's up to the application using Akonadi if they want to show it or not. And btw, you reported that one already in bug 178551. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 178551 *** Oh, yes, bug 178551 was the one I was looking for. Thanks. Akonadi depends on mysql server? Is that really so? You need to open a database server with all its vulnerabilities in order to start a PIM application? I would like to re-open this bug, but I think flamewars do not belong here. For all the currently released versions of the Akonadi server MySQL is indeed the only option.
