Kopete resizes user identity avatars before using them for ICQ accounts, because of their limited size in this network. However, avatars are resized to size 52x64px which I feel very uncomfortable about. The most of IM users use square avatars and also many Kopete chatwindow themes stretch avatars to squares. ICQ network supports avatars sized up to 64x64px. I suggest solving this by changing the line 763 of the file kdenetwork-4.3.1/kopete/protocols/oscar/oscaraccount.cpp from
"const QSize size = ( d->engine->isIcq() ) ? QSize( 52, 64 ) : QSize( 48, 48 );" to "const QSize size = ( d->engine->isIcq() ) ? QSize( 64, 64 ) : QSize( 48, 48 );"

Have the same issue. When I changed my ICQ avatar trough web interface — it's looks good, but kopete change it again after restarting and it looks ugly.

Has anything happened concerning that matter? ICQ 7 supports 100x100 avatars so that kopete icons get always stretched.

First of all, I don't personally use ICQ anymore. I wanted to test this anyways but I can not get the access to my old account. I have made a new ICQ account to test this, but it seems that new accounts only support authentication via SMS, which Kopete does not support and the user is not allowed to set a password. Therefor I can not perform any tests.
