The crash seems to be caused by a Xine bug about the dvd handling.
- Can you check playing the DVD with other players, like xine-enabled ones ("gxine" or "xine-ui") and other ones like VLC and mplayer; and check if they crash or not ?

Then the application is opened but DVD disk is not recognize and can not be played.
