I encountered a first bug : 
1- I edited a picture in digikam and converted the picture in grayscale.
2- I saved the picture as another name
In digikam, the thumbnail of the original picture was changed into a grayscale picture althoug it should be in color as i didn't change the orginal I just used save as. The original picture was ok only the thumbnail had been damaged.
I decided to update thumbnail using f5 , it did not change anything, the thumbnail was still not in par with the pictures.
Then I decided to use the rebuild all thumbnails command, scanning only for missing thumbnails.
Digikam crashed at the end. I saw the thumbnail flickering in the background of the "rebuild all thumbnails" window just before the crash.

I tried to reproduce this, but for me it is working. Have you experienced this problem again?

I tried to reproduce but it worked fine. Maybe the bug was caused by the fact that I was using two databases an ide hard drive and another one on usb harddrive.  I never encountered the bug about thumbnails before using the external usb drive, so may be caused by the fact the picture are on a slower hard disk.

I dont get a clue from the backtrace. It occurs when alpha blending a rating widget, either in the main icon view or in a thumbbar. No hint as to why there is a crash.
Difficult for me to do anything if not reproducable.

digiKam 1.0.0 is out since few days...
