Description yiown 2009-09-09 21:19:50 UTC
Version: 1.3 (using 4.3.00 (KDE 4.3.0), 4.3.0-6.fc11 Fedora)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.29.6-217.2.16.fc11.i686.PAE

i open a new dolphin from the app launcher, then i press ctrl-n to open a new dolphin window, then again i press ctrl-n to open another dolphin window, after that, ctrl-n does not work anymore, if fact ALL dolphin windows stop receiving keyboard events.
i need to close all dolphin windows and then open a new one from the app launcher for dolphin to receive keyboard events again.
this happens after opening the third or forth dolphin window, but sometimes it happens at the first ctrl-n.
twice this problem extended to kde and the environment stopped receiving keyboard events. all the apps worked fine but dolphin windows and kde environment didn't response to the keyboard.

Thanks for the report, but I cannot reproduce the issue (KDE 4.3.4). Can you reproduce the issue each time following the mentioned steps above?

yes, i updated to FC12 and this issue keep happening. i have a vaio laptop too, which i formated and install a clean FC12. and the issue is there too.
i have an usb genius slimstar 320 keyboard in my desktop pc, with a 7050 NVIDIA card (some relation is suggested in the forums). and a vaio nr160es laptop.
i change to use kdm instead of gdm. and i've found some errors in the kdm log. i attached it.
some friends use Fedora and i asked them to try this. a friend is using blackbox and have no problems. another is using gnome and no problems too.
thanks for the response.

I am not able to reproduce this bug either. @yiown If you cannot reproduce this bug anymore, I'll close this issue soon.

No response -> closing. Please reopen this bug if you still encounter this crash in newer versions of Dolphin.
