Wish/Bug:

The power management daemon should treat, or should be able to be configured to treat, ac-unplugging as an event.

Explanation:

I usually leave my laptop on while going away for a little while. When I come back I sometimes start by unplugging the power-cord to be able to move the computer to the living room. With my current configuration the laptop is suspended to ram before i have time to put it down again. Since unplugging the power cord is, most oftenly, a deliberate action this has to be considered a faulty behavior. If the power management daemon treated unplugging as an event this should not happen.

I have configured my laptop to be switched on as long as the power cord is plugged in and to suspend to ram when idle for more than 15 minutes.

I confirm this bug. When laptop stay for a time without any acting on it unplugging power cord causes suspending to ram ("sleeping"). May be it related with option "when system idle more than N minutes suspend to ram" in powersave profile?
I use KDE 4.2.4 with Qt 4.4 from openSUSE 11.1.
