Uninstall the networkmanager plasmoid which is unstable. Read bug 203502. Thanks *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 203502 *** There are 2 plasmoids that refer to network management: [on openSUSE 11.1 w/ KDE 4.3.1 (Rel 163)] 1. Network Management : Network status & control utility 2. System Monitor - Network : A newtork usage monitor I suppose the first is to be uninstalled. What is to be used instead of plasmoid 'Network Manager' to configure Wireless & Wired Networks ? Yes, you need to uninstall the first. The replacement is called something like "knetworkmanager4"; but I don't know the package name. Regards *** Bug 207728 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206577#c1 Thanks, Dario: I was able to boot into a working KDE 4 Desktop (KDE 4.3.1 Rel 163; on openSUSE 11.1) after removing the offending network-manager plasmoid (don't remember what exactly it is called). Jay Mistry Further to the post above, the plasmoid I removed was the first one ("Network Management : Network status & control utility"), from the add widgets/plasmoids to panel menu, though not sure what it's called in Yast - Software Management (Software Management module of openSUSE). |
