Description Sabine Faure 2009-09-04 19:25:59 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Compiler: gcc 4.3.2
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

- Configure Akonadi with an IMAP and Kolab resource.
- Launch Kaddressbook
- Create a Contact in an Address Book (AB 1)
- Create a second Address Book (ex: AB 2)
- Copy the Contact from AB 1 using right click on 'Copy Contact or Edit menu/Copy Contact
- Select AB 2 and right click on 'Paste' or Edit menu/'Paste' or Ctrl+V

This works fine but since there is a shortcut for pasting, would it be possible to have one for copying as well?

If this is implemented then the shortcut should be added in the Edit menu.

We had Ctrl+C implemented as default shortcut in KAddressBook from KDE 3.5
and many users complained that they don't like it, because they are used
to use Ctrl+C to copy selected text (e.g. from the details view on the right
side of the window).

So I won't set this shortcut by default in KAddressBook in KDE 4.4, however
you can always set the shortcut yourself in the Shortcut Configuration dialog.

This missing functionality can be corrected by the user by adding the desired shortcuts in the 'Configure Shortcuts' table (from the Setting menu).

After that both the shortcut for copying and pasting work.
