Description giggi1999 2009-09-04 14:24:10 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.3.0)
Compiler:          gcc 4.4.1 x86_64
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Unspecified Linux

I'm using Archlinux x86_64 and KDE 4.3.1

If we try to start kget it crashes with this error:

> kget
"/usr/bin/kget(6217)" Error in thread 140185345939360 : "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown - The name org.kde.nepomuk.services.nepomukstorage was not provided by any .service files"
"/usr/bin/kget(6217)" Error in thread 140185345939360 : "QLocalSocket::connectToServer: Invalid name"

After this a process called kget is present on the system
$ ps -a
  PID TTY          TIME CMD
 6217 pts/1    00:00:00 kget
 6224 pts/1    00:00:00 ps

But the GUI is not visible.

Doni't you see a Systray-Icon somehow? I doubt the error-message is the actual fault...

Indeed, that Nepomuk-related error messages are not fatal ones; so KGet should be there.

I've verified.

kget starts but the Systray-Icon is not immediately visible (or stay cached).
And the main GUI don't immediately appear on the desktop.

And the Systray-Icon is not a hidden one in the systray?

The Systray-Icon is an hidden one in the systray

Ok, click the icon to bring the KGet main window
Closing as INVALID as there is no crash and the error messages are not fatal.
Thanks
