Thanks for the bug report! This looks like a duplicate of bug 193364. I could not crash Dolphin (KDE 4.3.1 and trunk) with your instructions. Some questions (I'm not sure if it helps us to reproduce the crash, but because you say it's reproducible for you, it should be easy for you to check this): 1. Do you use an external Terminal or Dolphin's Terminal Panel? 2. Which view mode (Icons/Details/Columns) do you use, and do you have Previews enabled? 3. Does this happen in more than one directory for you? I tried my home folder and some small subdirectories, but got not crash. Thanks for your help. You're right, I wasn't able to duplicate the error with my directions either, but I was able to duplicate the error when I reproduced exactly what I was doing at the time. I am using a separate terminal in Konsole and I launched Dolphin from within my shell with the command "kfmclient exec .". The directory I was in was ~/tmp and I issued the shell commands from the same shell that Dolphin was started from. I also just noticed that after starting Dolphin I can also get a crash by running "cd .." to return to $HOME. However, I was not able to get a crash if I started this from $HOME and did "cd .." to go down to /home. I've tried it with a number of other directories and it seems I also can not get the crash if my starting directory is a dot directory (.kde, .ssh) however the crash was reliable in other directories in $HOME (Documents, Desktop, mail, bin). I played with the view mode and preview settings but they don't seem to make any difference. Hope this helps! Thanks for the update! Unfortunately, its still not reproducible for me :-( I'll mark this report as a duplicate of the other bug because it seems that it's the same crash. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 193364 *** |
