Description Pierre Jarillon 2009-09-03 14:41:18 UTC
Version:           1.12.1 (using Devel)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Compiled sources

On a completely fresh install of Mandriva 2010.0 beta, the first start of kmail call a wizard to help to configurate kmail.
It works very well except when the user wants to send a mail. A SMTP error message is issued:
SMTP error: 5.5.1 Error: authentication not enabled »

It is necessary to go in
-> Configuration -> Accounts -> Send -> Click -> Modify -> Advanced
to unselect the checkbox "Server needs an authentication"

This is not obvious for a beginner and a lot of people cannot deal with this. Please, unselect this by default.
