The physics involved in wobbly windows is quite complex and if you modify the values manually you can create non-realistic/unstable motions. Unfortunately these values cannot be capped as it would prevent some realistic/stable motions from being able to be simulated. The advanced settings are there for people that understand solid/fluid mechanics or for people that just want to experiment. That's why the settings are disabled by default and a "basic mode" is provided for everybody else. *** Bug 209514 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 209523 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Hi, first I'd like to apoligize for submitting the same report (Bug 209514) twice... When it didn't show up in the "My Bugs" list, I thought something had gone wrong when submitting it... (I didn't realise how fast you guys were marking duplicates ;-)) Anyhow, if the pattern I described in my report proves correct, wouldn't that make it possible to cap the stiffness value at a threshold that depends on the move factor value in such a way that only the unstable combinations are capped? So maybe this issue should be reopened... I have this problem, in Ubuntu with KDE 4.3. I can't even restore the settings. The window to change the settings wobbles so hard that I can't press the button on it to change the settings back. And it never stops. Here's the problematic values: [Effect-Wobbly] AdvancedMode=true Drag=50 MoveFactor=25 MoveWobble=true ResizeWobble=true Settings=Auto Stiffness=50 I'd like to vote for reopening this bug. Having "confusing" windows behaviour is one thing. But being unable to restore the setting (being unable to do ANYTHING in fact) due to not being able to USE a window anymore, is a big problem imho! *** Bug 246210 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 327514 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** This was marked as INTENTIONAL? LMAO no offence by the way, I just found this earlier because someone else showed me it... fair enough for closing it the way you did... it's just... this 'feature' is... something. Probably should be reopened though for its potential epilepsy problems due to the flashing that can occur. |
