a nice feature would be selecting a file name in the code (double click on a "word") and use this as a url to open this file in a new tab (see nedit, opens selected text as file url via CTRL Y)

Do you mean create a new file? Or open the url, if it is a url and the file exists?

open the selection as an url. This is very handy e.g. when you have data files that cross reference data in other files.
