Description Dotan Cohen 2009-08-26 19:27:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Currently, the only way to access mounted removable media in Konqueror (assuming that Konqueror is not the default file manager) is to open the media in Dolphin (or the default file manager), copy the address, then paste it to Konqueror's addressbar. Please add a way to access the media directly from Konqueror, such as in a sidebar. Thanks.

They seem to mount in /media/<device name> like most linux distros for the last several years.

I can see where a new user not using Dolphin would not know where this was.
But I don't see how this is different in Kong under 4.3 than it was under 3.5

At the moment to get the device mounted you *have* to open it in dolphin. Theres no way to get it opened in konqueror. And under 3.5 there was the possibility to mount/unmount the device in one of the tabs of this left side bar. And also you could go directly to the devices root folder from there.

I think that we can safely merge this report with bug #172766

Thanks, Finex, that looks like a good fix. I would have recommended a "depends on" instead of a dupe, as the other bug does not mention this issue, could be rejected, and there are alternative solutions to this issue.
