Version:           0.70.90 (using 4.3.00 (KDE 4.3.0), Gentoo)
Compiler:          x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.30-gentoo-r2

As some IM clients allow the usage of non quadrate images, the aspect ratio of them should be kept.

This works fine in the notification and the contact list, but not in the dialog window.

The image displayed in the contact properties window is also affected.

Some more related issues:
If a user has a non-standard sized image, Kopete doesn't scale this image down to a reasonable size.

This affects the tooltip + the notification window.

Take a look at this attachment which shows a really huge avatar image.

The image is shown at the same size in the notification window, which is really disturbing. This way notifications are not very unobtrusive but may cover half of your screen ;-)

As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
