- Can you try disabling the Tooltips in Dolphin Settings/ General ? - Are you using the Mplayerthumbs plugin ? This is likely to be bug 195462. Thanks I'm not using Mplayerthumbs, and disabling tooltips indeed fixes the problem, as dolphin has nothing to read on disk on mouseover. Regarding bug 195462, when the tooltip of a mp4/mov file is loading, dolphin indeed starts eating huge amounts of RAM, it seems to be loading the whole file into RAM. However, as soon as the tooltip is loaded, that RAM is freed, and I don't have to kill dolphin at all. I haven't experienced crashes or system slowdowns either, probably because I have RAM enough to avoid swapping. I just checked and I seem to have the same problem with big PDF files, so it looks like it's the same bug in strigi. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 195462 *** |
