Description Tomas Straupis 2009-08-26 07:43:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

If I set keyboard layout switching combination to Ctrl+Shift (under advanced tab in keyboard layout configuration), then Ctrl+Shift+Arrows does not work as a short-cut to select whole words.
P.S. The same problem was with 4.2 and probably earlier versions.

Additional thing noticed: If layout switching is set to Alt+Shift then short-cut Alt+Shift+? doesn't work in mc as "find".
Apparently a problem is that whatever this layout switch is, it should work on "depressing" of keys rather than pressing. And if I "press" a switch combination with other key (say arrows for selecting or ? for find in mc) depressing should not switch keyboard layout.

This is the problem with xorg: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=865
Not much kxkb can do here.
