Description Viktor Reiser 2009-08-23 17:55:59 UTC
Version: 4.3 (using KDE 4.3.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

System settings > Keyboard & Mouse > Mouse
If I choose the single lick to open/acativate, there are two options:
- change mouse icon over symbols
- automatically selection
(I don't know the exact words, I have a german translation.)

Both options have no effect on my system...

I do not think that System Settings needs to do anything special to implement this, and it is likely a bug in KCategorizedView.

Still valid for KDE 4.5 and it‘s really stupid if you hate that spastic double click thingie and use single-click and then it doesn‘t let you easily select files.

The only application I found that respects the automatic selection of files (although here it is really annoying) is KDE‘s kick off menu editor. When you hover over an application/folder it gets selected after the set period of time.
Still not fixed in Dolphin, though.

Hi,

kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years.

KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have resolved this bug.

If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue.

We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.

Greetings
