Hi, i've seem this happening since 4.2  but as this is not _that_ common I waited to see if someone fixes it..
With cover switch effect if you do ALT + TAB, and hold the ALT key till some application is closed you see the crash.
You can try with firefox with is a bit slow to close when it has several open pages.
(as said it's still happening in 4.3).

That is the most often reported crash report against KWin. It happens with ALL tabbox replacement effects.
