I'm using a rather flaky 3G mobile broadband ISP and disconnects are often. I wish knetworkmanager would emit a notification when a particular connection goes down instead of just silently going offline.

Here there is a patch to do that. You have to configure the popup in systemsettings -> Notifications -> Event Origin: Network managerment -> Network disconnected.

The patch adds new strings to the source code. If nobody opposes I am going to commit this change to svn soon.
