Sentry Crash Report:

Description John Wheaton 2009-08-18 13:03:06 UTC
Version:           4.3.0 (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

I originally reported an issue similar to this in kmail composer. In this case, what is happening affects all of kontact.

* in mail view
* change icon size on tool bar to small
* change view away to calendar view
* switch back
* icons are back to the default size

Another way I can replicate this is to start at the Summary view, and start changing the icon size for every view. When I reach the last view, go back to the mail view and the icons will be back to the default size.

I think, -maybe- a factor may be switching to a view where the icon size is a different size. I just made sure that -every- view has every tool bar set to small icons, and I think it is now remembering that setting. However, it should remember that setting for each view, not carrying the icon size setting from one view to another.

I'm observing the same problem in KDE 4.3.5 (Kubuntu 9.10). I had changed the default icon size (in KMail, starting Kontact to default to Summary view at start) from "Default" to "Large" and back to "Default" (or "Medium") but it sporadically forgets the setting and goes back to "Large".

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kontact (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
