I got some ideas concerning the selection tool for editing photos.

First: "Greying out" the regions that are not selected is a cool feature but it is confusing that this effect is only visible if the selection is not being resized. The main problem I see here is that on mainly black images you cannot really see the selection you made until you stop resizing it. And once you start resizing you have to guess again. So please always show the grey areas.

Second: Since a few versions Gimp supports resizing the selection not only in the corners but also on the sides. This is a very cool feature which I'd really like to have in digikam, too.
