Description Tim Climis 2009-08-13 14:35:50 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: MS Windows
Installed from: MS Windows

(This bug is actually with the Dolphin KPart - it happens in the folderview for Kate as well, for example)

In previous versions of KDE for windows (4.0.0 to 4.2.4), if you wanted to open a network drive mapped on your computer, you'd just type "z:/" in your address bar.

Now, when you do that, it redirects to smb://z/. That'd be fine, since it's a network drive, except for the part where, when it redirects, it no longer opens, and before it did.

Everything I do at work is on shared network drives (including my personal Documents and Desktop folders) so this bug has made KDE totally useless on my Windows box.

Can we revert to the old behavior, which is more intuitive for Windows use anyway?

This seems to be fixed already in 4.8.0, no idea when that happened though.
