Description Rainer Finke 2009-08-11 00:08:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package

Since KDE 4.3 the plasma wallpaper slideshow is showing during kde startup a window with the information which wallpapers are found in the wallpaper directory. This window is more or less useless and it wasn't there in KDE 4.2.
The KDE startup process is now slower and I can't use the desktop until the plasma wallpaper search is finished.

- Does this happen on every startup ?
- How many files do you have in your slideshow selection ?
- How many seconds is it spending ?

This is related to bug 190632.
Thanks

~ Yes, on every startup
~ I have 8500 images
~ 10 seconds with a black screen during startup, and then 12 seconds with the search dialog.

Ok, the problem is not new! Please close the incident. Thank you

The problem was reported already but it should be fixed on 4.3 already, so it may be a different issue.

Merging with bug 190632 now it was reopened. Thanks
