sorry ,i must correct one fact: found out now, that both files were not deleted. This changes the whole story ... So is the bug now that digikam did not delete both images? I mean, did you delete from within digikam? Can you reproduce? sorry, i didn't have time to continue. I'm not happy with this bug, because i'm not able to reproduce it in a clear way. On the other hand i had an update from suse meanwhile, so my answers now base on v1.0.0beta3, but as delivered just about two days ago. There are two things, that might have influenced this bug and i give it into your hands, whether we should wait for a clearer description and close it or not: - Very likely i tried to delete the files in the album, while the files on the camera were also in the process of getting deleted. - i used the camera powershot a400. This model tends to go asleep, if there is no action. Given that it might have happened, that digicam waited for some response, while the camera went asleep. - 10 Minutes ago my system freezed, while i did just those two deletions (camera+album). Luckily the process table was running and i saw, that there are 6 instances of a process "kio_thumb*" were running, that consumed a considerable amount of memory from max 970mb down to at least 486mb. That means they took all of my memory In case kio_thumb has nothing to do with digicam, then forget about this. Otherwise i could offer a screenshot of the process table to support you. some result in between: The effects of kio_thumb have nothing to do with digikam. Had a situation today, where there was no digikam running and still this effect with kio_thumb instances happened. On the other hand i had a situation just a few days ago, where i deleted about 20 to 30 pictures in an album and digikam did not finish. I had to kill the process. Still there are strange circumstances. Meanwhile i tend to put it on the kde 4.3 release, because in another situation i deleted about 1000 files with dolphin, that held just 0 to 50 bytes. It showed up, that deleting into trash can takes about 10 minutes, while direct deleting is fast. Just close this bug. Closing until further info reveals a clearer problem. |
