Well, NTFS write support is not really supported / safe under Linux I guess. Maybe you destroyed the image files, or at least made them unreadable for Windows now. I would never use OS specific filesystems under various operating systems, a fileserver or a better support FS should be the solution here. FAT32 is writable without problems under Linux.
