information about that YAML file in dolphin 1.99

Description Emmanuel Surleau 2009-08-06 14:08:04 UTC
Version: 1.3 (using 4.3.00 (KDE 4.3.0), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.30-4.slh.1-sidux-686

When displaying small YAML files in Dolphin, Dolphin mistakes them for patch files. I have attached one problematic files for demonstration.

In the screenshot, although dolphin doesn't see that YAML file as a patch, it still lists some entries which are only meaningful to a patch .

Still reproduciable using KDE SC 4.9.0 .
Comment 4 Frank Reininghaus 2012-08-09 13:05:36 UTC
Hm, I don't really think it's Dolphin's fault. Probably the mime-type detection goes wrong.

Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719

Not sure exactly what you mean. Could you maybe give some more details on how to reproduce this bug? I'm using Dolphin 2.1/KDE SC 4.9.2 (Kubuntu Quantal Quetzal package).

Hi Bryan,

See comment #2 and the screenshot.

When triaging bugs, you can at first skip reports marked with "reproduciable/testcase/triaged" keywords, since they have already been triaged before.

I looked at the screenshot when I first looked at the bug, but I still wasn't able to figure out what he meant.

Bryan, notice those "Diff.stats.*" lines in the screenshot. They are only meaningful for a patch, which that YAML file clearly is not.

Ah, yes. Those information items do not appear in Dolphin 2.1 (Kubuntu 12.04 package). It has apparently been fixed.
Comment 11 Frank Reininghaus 2012-11-17 21:29:14 UTC
I'll reassign to kdelibs because this is where the mime type detection takes place.
Comment 12 Christoph Cullmann 2024-05-01 20:54:26 UTC
If that still happens this need to be reported upstream to the mime database stuff on xdg.
