kde 4.3-0.1 quicklaunch icon spacing (too much)
This shows the new icon spacing in the released 4.3 version. The icon spacing is way to wide causing the quicklaunch group to take up over an additional icon worth of space. Both these files are the same as shown in the links of the original report, but I have been told to make attachments out of them as well.

there is no setting, and the margins are intentional so it doesn't look like a can of sardines. What in the heck happened to the KDE philosophy of "USER CHOICE"? I think your changes to quicklaunch make it look like crap and I should be able to restore my preferred "can of sardines" look to preserve taskbar real-estate if I so choose. Quichlaunch looked and worked FINE in KDE4.3 rc3 and somebody had to go impose their personal "cutsie" preference on it -- other users be damned. That's crap. Where do you get off saying WONT? I sure as hell didn't cause the problem. I don't care whether you do it Aaron or somebody else does it, this needs to be fixed and user set. Why was it changed between rc3 and now anyway? Somebody went to the trouble of imposing their personal preference on the quicklaunch setting that sure in the heck shouldn't have. KDE has always stood out as a desktop because it allowed individual users to choose what their desktop looked like, not some guy named Aaron choosing what everyone else's desktop looks like. I am reopening this bug and if you don't want to work on it, please pass it along to one of the developers that still values user preference as the cornerstone to KDE. Thanks. Does this user just have more importance? https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=200868 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 200868 *** |
