Version: (using KDE 4.3.1) Installed from: Arch Linux Packages I might be mistaken but this option already exists. You can (de)activate it and set its duration in the profiles of Power Management. No, you can disable the screen only after X min of inactivities, no only decrease the luminosity. Both options exist! Each profile is divided in 3 parts: Actions, Screen and Processor. The option to "reduce the luminosity when the system has been inactive for" (rough translation) is present in the "Actions" part of a profile (its icon is a blue flag). I have only 2 checkbox: - Disable desktop effects, if active - Dim display when ilde for more than ... If it second option, my wish is: - Use the text above: "reduce the luminosity when the system has been inactive for" - Default active for performance mode after 10min - Allow to choice the level of luminosity Thanks for your clarifications. Now we only need some capable soul to add this feature. I'm marking as invalid for the following reasons: - The option is there and works :) - "Dim" is the correct english term for describing progressive brightness lowering - The level of brightness is automatically adjusted based on idle time. If you set the brightness to be dimmed in 20 minutes, you would have your screen starting to dim over from 10 mins of inactivity - I'll add it a default (I thought it already was, anyway) Hope this clarifies |
