The printwizard works well but it doesn't add comments properly to the images. However it shows them correctly in the preview. Different paper size and position on the sheet produce different result: for example printwizard attaches name of the file only on one photo when i print two or more photos on the same sheet.

It's a stupid but boring problem. Print preview and printed images don't correspond.

can you tel me step by step what do you do to get wrong behaviour?

It seems to work here

1- open Gwenview and select two files (jpg)
2- open printwizard 
3- add the names of the files (DejaVu Sans, black)
4- print output to file (kipi_printassistant_1.jpeg, A4)
5- size: 10 x 13.33cm. Curiously I see the names in the small preview, it seems to work
6- print and...

There are no names in kipi_printassistant_1.jpeg (disappeared); same result with comments, date, ecc...

Thanks Alessandro, so it seems "print to file" to be affected :) I will take a look at it. 
To be sure though can you please try to print to printer instead and choose pdf file as output? That should work instead.

SVN commit 1013310 by anaselli:

Fixed print to file.
Removed PirntOnePage for QImage, now one way only to print one page :)

With new PrintCreator from digiKam core version 5.7.0, the problem is not
reproducible.
