Description Stefan Majewsky 2009-07-23 17:09:08 UTC
Version: 2.1.1 (using KDE 4.2.96)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

[I regard this more as "Bug" than "Wishlist", but I leave it to you to decide.]

In the OSD configuration dialog, the checkbox label "Use On-Screen-Display" is wrong. Even if this checkbox is unchecked, I can toggle the OSD with the global shortcut Meta+O. The worst part IMO is that one can not configure the OSD's appearance without temporarily checking the upper checkbox, even if one does not want it to be displayed automatically.

I therefore request to change the label of aforementioned checkbox to something like "Show On-Screen-Display when a new track starts", and not disable the rest of the configuration interface when this option is unchecked.

i would argue that this is correct - it indeed does not turn the OSD off, it just does not show it automatically :)

In 2.3-git all this is in the config dialog for notifications. So it is clear to me that the OSD (of KNotify) setting will be used for notifications.

Notifications are btw more than just track changes: also changes of metadata of the volume is included there.

-> I don't think this needs to be changed anymore.
