Version:           Kile 2.1 beta 1 (using KDE 4.2.95)

Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

the "open file" tab in the sidebar shows only *.tex files. I remember that in older versions there was a line to input filter patterns, but this has vanished.

I would be great to have this back
