Version:            (using KDE 4.2.96)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Mandriva RPMs

at startup deamons start, but when it comes to "starting wm" it crashes, and screen becomes frozen with white background. From here nothing happens, cannot work.

Hi!
- When this behaviour started to happen ?
- Can you try with a new user account ?
- Can you try selecting the "KDE failsafe" session option in the login manager ?

This could be related to KWin and compositing (desktop effects) tests, or to your hardware.

The problem gave me so much headaches I had since decided to remove the
entire Mandriva. Thank youi for your interest in trying to help me.
