Version:           2.2.3 (using 4.2.4 (KDE 4.2.4), Debian packages)
Compiler:          cc
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31-rc3

Nothing else , except that I do not notice this in gnome-terminal or xterm.

The info provided was too little , and the problem can't be reproduced in KDE-4.7.0

Can you check this problem again with recent version and provide more detailed info?

Can't seem to be able to reproduce this with 4.6.5 (Debian testing).
