Version:            (using KDE 4.2.96)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

When I insert a DVD a choose "Play dvd with dragon player" from the list after the dvd is inserted, dragon player is launched, but does not start to play the dvd directly.

What backend are you using for Phonon?

Works for me.
KDE 4.3.1 w/ phonon-xine as backend.

Sorry, took a few days. I did not have my external dvd-drive to test. I works for me now in KDE 4.3.1 too.
