Often when deleting contacts and groups in Kopete, I find that they have reappeared after shutting down and then restarting Kopete. It seems that Kopete only removes deleted contacts from itself, not from the service.

you didn't say which protocol. If this is for multiple protocols, then just 
close this bug and file a bug per protocol so that we can track them properly.

I think that it is for multiple protocols, but for Yahoo I am sure. So I added Yahoo to the title and I will file bugs on other protocols as I find them.

Note that all my contacts and groups have non-ascii names (Hebrew text). I do not know if that matters or not, but as UTF-8 problems are common I thought that I'd mention it.

Hello from the KDE Bugsquad!

Unfortunately, Yahoo has discontinued the Yahoo Messenger service, and the code has been removed from Kopete.

Thus, I am closing this bug as "UNMAINTAINED" since it will no longer be fixable, or able to operate due to Yahoo.
