problem starts (not allways) if option confirm logout disabled in settings - session manager

the options log out / shutdown / reboot in kickoff sometimes do each other's tasks. for instance on one of my boxes kickoff - leave - log out shuts down the computer instead of exiting to kdm (right click desktop - leave exits to kdm)

the task done by right click on desktop - leave seems to sometimes mismatch whats chosen in default shutdown option in the settings
