Sentry Crash Report:

Description Diego 2009-07-13 16:43:30 UTC
Version:           4.2.95 (KDE 4.2.95 (KDE 4.3 RC1)) (using 4.2.95 (KDE 4.2.95 (KDE 4.3 RC1)), 4.2.95-3.fc10 Fedora)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.29.4-75.fc10.i686

Activating "Dynamic word wrap" causes KWrite to become extremely slow when doing some operations.

How to reproduce:
- write down a document with very long lines (~200 characters) with roughly 100 lines;
- try to select 50 lines by pressing "Shift + Down";
- release the "Down" key;
- you should see selection going on for a couple of seconds after you release the down key and you can see lines getting selected one by one (~4 lines per second).

This is on an Athlon XP 1800+ and an ATI card.

This slowness is also visible when typing text with "Ins" activated and you type quite fast.

run kate with -graphicssystem raster when you're having Qt4.5.1 (on 4.5.0 raster engine is still very buggy). Other than that this is a duplicate.

Is it possible to set -graphicssystem raster globally for kate vie a config file or something? This siwtch really helps with the slowness and I'd like to continue using the Kate Session Plasmoid
