This looks related to bug 197672, can you check it ?
How many screens do you have ?

yes it looks like the same bug but I reported it for kde4.3 but ya it is the same.
I have just one laptop screen with 4 workspaces

Ok, I'm merging them. The other reports also mentions KDE4.3 (it is not fixed yet)
