Are KDEDIR and/or KDEDIRS set appropriately for running KDE from a non-standard location? Frame #7 suggests that KDEDIR is set to /usr/share, but your KDE4 installation seems to be somewhere under /home/kde-trunk/kde. KDEDIR, at least, needs to point here too. You can verify this by running Konqueror for a web page, it may crash with the same problem. Well, I learned a lesson: don't test certain applications from a terminal window UNLESS you are actually logged in as that user. When I tried to run KMail, I did it something like this: 1. Logged in as "steve" KDEDIR=/usr 2. Opened terminal and ran "su - kde-trunk" 3. That is when the failed attempts at running KMail occured... In closing: 1. KMail from SVN TRUNK runs perfectly if I log into a full KDE SVN TRUNK session. 2. VERY SORRY for the noise... Thanks for the feedback. Changing to a better resolution. |
