Basically, I am running grep in a directory with a konsole sized at 80x48 and it will display 24 lines and start over writing said lines.  It overwrites without clearing so everything becomes an unreadable mess.  This issue with konsole not handling being sized larger then 24 lines has been common for me throughout the kde 4.2.x series. Previously, when running something like vim or less, it'd only display on the first 24 lines.  less and vim no longer seem to have issues, it is just this new one dealing with grep.

Might be a duplicate of or at least related to bug #176902. I've just attached a patch there, you might want to give it a try.
