I forgot to add that Kontact has been made for KDE 4.2.95 already. But adding this breaks the KDE 4.2.4 install. Upgrading to KDE 4.2.95 to satisfy Kontact dumped tons of my KDE apps that weren't yet produced for the beta release. What a mess! This is a problem of your packager. Yast? no, opensuse Adding a bit more context. Kontact and the other KDE PIM applications are released together with other KDE applications whenever there is a KDE release. So your wish item could have also been closed as "RESOLVED" "FIXED" because it has already been that way. If a distribution update somehow managed to remove Kontact or install an incompatible version, it could have been a problem with the packages or with the package manager. In both these cases something the distributor has to look into. It wasn't available from the repos. OpenSuSE claimed it was a KDE fault. That is why I came here in the first place. However, the jokers running the OpenSuSE forums now are infantile children playing power games rather than dealing seriously with serious issues. So I wouldn't be surprised if it had been a SuSE issue. I've always been treated at KDE with respect and I respect the guys here at KDE as well. |
