Description monipol 2009-07-05 13:55:55 UTC
Version: 1.2-alpha4 (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS: OS X
Installed from: Mac OS X (Fink) Packages

Growl is a notification engine used by several Mac OS X applications. Using Growl as an alternative to On Screen Display would help Konversation look more native on Mac OS X.

I believe this should be done on the KDE level, by adding Growl support to the KNotify notification system that Konversation makes use of, similar to how KNotify interfaces with the Plasma notification system over D-Bus today.

Reassigning.

Growl support is not required to make notifications look better, but implementing the Growl protocol would allow sending notifications through the network, which would be great in my opinion.

Hi,

kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years.

KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have implemented this wish.

If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue.

We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.

Greetings
