I have kopete run with:
1x AIM
1x MSN
1x Yahoo
5x Jabber

i set all contacts to the offline state. Kopete still use about 30% of the cpu time.

It seems that this bug is related to lancelot. After killing lancelot the cpu time of kopete decrease.

I have the same problem using kopete 0.70.90 in Debian Sid. 

I reported the problem[1] into bugzilla of them.

And also tried to kill the lancelot, resulting a fall of processor. The problem is the use of kopete + lancelot.
