This is not a bug, but an annoyance. When you're chatting and someone sends you a link, an image or whatever, kopete locks for a while until the transmission of this link/image is complete. 

You can't even type in anything for, in my case, a couple of seconds. It would be nice to have some asynchronicity there.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
